What is detoxification?

I think we have been listening to this word a thousand times, but do we really think of what is it meant?

"Detoxification" is defined as the cleansing of our blood. This starts from liver where toxins are processed for elimination. It works to remove impurities from the blood in the liver. Besides liver, our body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymph and skin. However, when this system is compromised, impurities aren't properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected.

Why should we detox?

We are nowadays living in a fast-pace generation and hectic social lives. We have too much stress in the work, eating too much junk food, not enough rest and exercise, and too much of drink and smoke. This is the real danger of present lifestyle.

What should we do to detox?

  1. Reduce our toxin load by getting rid of daily habit of alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars and saturated fats. These all act as toxins in the body and are obstacles for healing process.
  2. Reduce the body stress
  3. Substitute your household cleaners and personal health care products with natural alternatives
  4. Be mindful of what you eat, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid excess medications


Detox is a body renewal process. We stopoverload the body with harmful subtances and give the right nutrients to speed up the elimination of old toxins and promote cell renewal.
